Olive Auction charges producers a single flat commission, fixed at account creation for the first year. Everything else — carriage, invoicing, packaging claims — follows the plain set of rules below.
The mill sets a carriage rate for each region it ships to, and a different rate per country if it chooses. The buyer sees that rate for their own country before they bid, and it reaches the mill whole — Olive Auction takes no share of it.
Listing a lot costs nothing. The catalogue entry costs nothing, and so does the photography. A lot that doesn't sell owes nothing either.
The mill's card sits pre-authorised through Stripe for the 22% a sale could draw, and that pre-authorisation is what releases the buyer's contact and delivery address to the mill. The card is captured only once the lot settles.
When a lot sells, the 22% is pre-authorised on your card. The hold is what unlocks the winning buyer's contact and delivery address, and it settles by itself the moment you log the shipment's tracking. Nothing to remember, nothing to chase.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Hammer | €70.00 |
| Commission, 22% flat | €15.40 |
| Settled to the mill | €54.60 |
| Carriage, the mill's own rate | Paid to the mill in full, on top |
A lot refunded for damage in transit still carries 10% of the hammer to Olive Auction. A lot packed below Olive Auction's published packaging standard carries the full 22% commission, refund or not. The logistics guide sets out that packaging standard in full.
